This is the site of comic book artist and illustrator Fiona Staples. My website is unavailable at the moment while I update some things, but feel free to check out the sketches and art in my blog below! I know, I know, it's too pink.

D2D review! A real one!

"This is a book where the line of good taste is shot in the head, fed into a wood chipper, and then placed in a blender."
- The Comics Review

Read the review here.

They gave us a 7/10 but said some things that were quite nice. Andrew doesn't think the reviewer understood it was a satire.

DONE TO DEATH #2 preview

Boy, this issue was fun to draw. It's all nudity and people getting hurt. Often both at once! Here are a few unlettered pages in which this guy totally gets kicked in the face.

"Artistic Interpretations of Literary Figures"

I did a sketch of Phileas Fogg for Steven Gettis' wonderful collection of "Artistic Interpretations of Literary Figures." He has some super famous artists in his collection and a lot of comic types that I really admire, like Ashley Wood, Dave McKean, Adam Hughes, Stuart Immonen and James Jean, to name just a few. It's an honour to have my work shown in such SERIOUS company.

I drew it on pink paper and gave him a Louis Vuitton money sack because I am, in fact, a girl.

Chris had some leftover pages in the next Radioactive City: Meltdown anthology, so he let me squeeze in this one page! It appears full of promise, but that's really all there is. Just the one page. Maybe it's not even very promising:

I did it all in Photoshop, which I don't usually do; I usually have a scanned-in sketch at the very least. That explains, I think, why this one is more shapes-based than line-based. Or whatever.

I watched The Full Monty again last night and I have to say there is something very endearing about Robert Carlyle. I liked him as a Bond villain, too. He saved that movie from lame chicks and Pierce Brosnan's aging body.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but here's what you can expect to see on the cover of DONE TO DEATH #3!

I guess I've started drawing people really shiny. It's a quick way to pretend you're rendering when you really, really aren't.

A funny little sketch-o:

So here's what's new

I have this blog now, which I will use to update my site more efficiently & frequently! Ideally! DONE TO DEATH is coming out this July from Markosia, so stay tuned for news & happenings on that front.

Sketches and art will be posted here if I can't be bothered to put them in the actual gallery! Here's a fanart I did of Nick Johnson's character from Vicious Ambitious's latest offering, ROUND TWO. I picked up the boys' book at the Comic & Entertainment Expo last Sunday and it comes with my highest recommendations.
